Phase two of our long-term vision was completed Fall 2011. Our 726sf home increased in size to just over 1300sf. The addition includes an office, full bathroom, art studio, additional interior storage, and vegetated swale to treat storm water. Sixty percent of the addition rests on top of an existing concrete slab from an old carport and incorporates all of the carport's dismantled beams into the design. This design method capitalizes on the building materials' embodied energy, while the compact footprint preserves open spaces. Interior photos will be uploaded soon!
