Dennis & Larena Hebert are avid gardeners who love to dance and entertain guests. Their existing kitchen was just big enough to prepare a meal and had little connection to their garden not to mention no room to cut a rug.
The proposed addition, completed in August 2011 is now the social hub of the house, where it equally connects to both interior and exterior spaces. The design intent was to create a space that would tie into the the existing house, yet be embellished with features which communicate a special sense of place. Natural light, materials, and a traditional aesthetic where critical design considerations.
Existing furnishings, finishes, and decorations greatly informed the interior design, while a level of formal garden rigor informed the exterior scheme.
